One of Observatory Systems' private clients donated their telescope to College of the Desert in addition to purchasing a 1-meter Planewave CDK1000 for College of the Desert. Observatory Systems served as the technical project lead for the design and installation of a new observatory at College of the Desert's Mecca/Thermal Campus. Phase 1 of the project is complete with the donors Planewave CDK17 installed on a Software Bisque Paramount MEII inside a 16 foot Astrohaven dome. Observatory Systems is preparing to decommission the CDK17 in preparation for the installation of the CDK1000 just after the New Year (2018). Observatory Systems is currently consulting with College of the Desert on the development of a larger STEM facility that will include an observatory and other lab spaces. Observatory Systems is leading the discussion on what features are needed in a new facility to support an observatory public outreach program.
